Tom Cruise is the Christ of Scientology
Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at 11:05 by Sarah MalaisePerhaps Tom Cruise need not worry too much about his faltering Hollywood career after all, as it seems he has been marked for a higher calling. The controversial actor has been named by senior members of the Church of Scientology as the new Messiah.
Faith leader David Miscavige has called Cruise “[Scientologyâ??s] Chosen One” and compared him to Christ, claiming that while he may be mocked for his beliefs now, future generations will revere him for his teachings.
Cruise has been a member of L Ron Hubbardâ??s spurious religion since the late 80s, and has become increasingly outspoken in his comments about his faith. He was dropped by production company Paramount last August, after remarks about childbirth and psychiatry were blamed for disappointing box office takings.
While Cruise faces a new Mission Impossible to ever be taken seriously again, we can only wonder how long it will be before the glossy magazines are fighting for the exclusive picture rights to his crucifixion!

Future generations will not revere him.
They will laugh MORE.
