The Slant Wants You!
Friday, January 5th, 2007 at 18:15 by Simon KimberHere at The Slant we’ve set ourselves the lofty goal of providing discerning UK readers with an alternative take on the news, current affairs and issues that concern us all on these little islands of random climate we call home.
By taking an approach to reporting the news that leaves room for opinion, sarcasm and some traditional Great British cynicism, we aim to poke fun right where it needs poking and expose the ridiculousness and stupidity lurking in high places, not to mention a few low ones.
Does that sound like your cup of tea? Are you are a UK-based writer (amateur or professional) or, alternatively, a writer who can appeal to, and cover topics and issues relevant to, a UK audience? Can you write about the news in an intelligent, engaging style, with humour, wit, and, what the hell, maybe even (if you’re feeling extravagant) a bit of panache as well? Yes? Then we want to hear from you!
