Thatcher ‘May Face War Crimes Trial’
Sunday, September 17th, 2006 at 11:53 by Stephen GilesManchester City left-back Ben Thatcher, banned this week for eight matches by an FA Disciplinary committee and fined by his club following an horrific ‘elbow-first’ tackle on Portsmouth player Pedro Mendes, is now rumoured to be under investigation by the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.
It is believed that the case against Thatcher has been boosted by video evidence streamed on rolling Sky Sports News bulletins, and further revelations from any and every part time clogger who has rubbed up against the former Wimbledon and Spurs man over the past ten years.
Don’t these people realise they’ll never get a conviction to stick where Thatchers and Arms are concerned?
