Robbie Williams Planning To Give Up Singing
Thursday, August 31st, 2006 at 13:34 by Sarah Malaise32 year-old publicity junkie Robbie Williams has threatened to give up singing to spend more time with his millions. The sensitive and camera-shy artiste is fed up with the pressures of fame, and intends to take some time off to decide whether it is really important to him.
“I’ve got to take the view over the next 18 months and see if I want to be part of the machine any more, because I don’t see me singing again,â?ť he told the Daily Star. Apparently he is worried that the record industry and media attention which made him a super rich household name since his departure from comedy tribute act Take That have also turned him into a monster. Shouldnâ??t he be blaming his tattoo artist?
â??Can I live without radio picking my song and putting it on the playlist? Or is fame something I’m addicted to?â?ť he asks himself.
You tell us, Rob. Five times a day for the next fortnight on international radio and television, if you can get away with it. You can probably squeeze a few hundred grand out of one of the glossies for the exclusive picture deal while youâ??re at it.
Coincidentally, Williams releases a new single next week and is about to embark on a stadium tour.
