Mooo my lover/Moo me ducks/Eby Gum Moo

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006 at 13:14 by Eliza E. Lanyard

According to Somerset based farmer Lloyd Green, his bovine charges moo with a distinct Somerset drawl. Before you jump to the conclusion that Mr Green has been spending too much time alone with his cows and flagons of dodgy home made cider, his observations have been backed up by Professor John Wells, Professor of Phonetics at the University of London. “This phenomenon is well attested in birds. You find distinct chirping accents in the same species around the country. This could also be true of cows”

Whats the betting that whatever accent they have they’re all saying roughly the same things  - “Christopher Timothy never warmed his hands first”, ”Please don’t send me to the abbatoir” and “Why have we never had professional recognition for our weather predicting skills? We are just as accurate as Michael Fish and cuter to look at.”
